Come and join the Georgetown Club of Metropolitan New York in a volunteer opportunity with Xavier Mission’s soup kitchen! For over 30 years Xavier Mission has helped the community by serving and empowering those in need. As volunteers we will be serving food and working at food stations.
When: Sunday, September 23rd from 11:30a.m. to 3:30p.m.
Where: 55 West 15th Street just east of 6th Avenue (between 6th and 5th), on the north side of the street. There’s a red awning that says “Church of St. Francis.” Ring the buzzer and the receptionist will buzz you in. Just inside the door to the right is a ½ flight of stairs down to Hurtado Hall, which is where the meal will be served. Sign in and come find me.
What to wear: T-shirts and jeans are fine (and Georgetown gear is always encouraged so we can easily find each other). Wear comfortable shoes as we will be on our feet for most of the day. Please do not wear:
T-shirts with inappropriate or offensive sayings or designs
Clothing that exposes your midriff. We do not want anyone to attract any unwelcome attention.
Sandals or other open shoes.
Volunteer spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. 10 spots are available. Register here!
