Wall Street Alliance Scholarship Dinner

Since 2000, the Wall Street Alliance has brought the Georgetown community in the New York metro area together at the annual Wall Street Alliance Scholarship Dinner to support Georgetown’s mission to meet the financial needs of its undergraduate students. Over 400 alumni and friends joined us on Thursday, March 7th for the 24th Annual Wall Street Alliance Scholarship Dinner. 

As a result of the long-standing tradition of the annual scholarship dinner, the Wall Street Alliance Scholarship is the second largest endowment scholarship fund benefitting Georgetown University, raising more than $17 million and supporting over 120 undergraduate students.

The economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have intensified the financial challenges facing students and families, making Georgetown’s foundational commitment to access, affordability, and student success in higher education all the more important.

In 1993, William P. Frank (C’63), Victor R. Wright [father of Jennifer (C’96) and Samantha (C’99)], and James F. Higgins (B’70) independently proposed that the university develop a Wall Street affinity group. Each had seen similar groups at peer institutions and recognized the benefits of such an alliance, both for individual members and for universities and their students.

In 1995, the founding alumni leaders joined then-President Leo J. O’Donovan, S.J., in creating the Georgetown University Wall Street Alliance. In 2000, the founders created the Wall Street Alliance Scholarship Fund, leading to the creation of one of the largest endowments benefiting Georgetown, raising over $17 million and supporting over 120 undergraduate student scholars.

As the first alliance organization created at Georgetown University, the Wall Street Alliance is deeply committed to the continued engagement and purposeful focus on our diverse and global community of alumni, parents, and friends within the financial services and business industry.

To achieve this mission, the Wall Street Alliance endeavors to:

• Help ensure the most deserving, ambitious, passionate students with wide-ranging experiences and backgrounds continue to choose Georgetown University for their undergraduate education regardless of their ability to pay, through fundraising initiatives supporting the Wall Street Alliance Scholarship Fund
• Advance the network of Georgetown’s diverse alumni, parents, and friends within the global financial service and business communities
• Celebrate changemakers who are creating solutions, influencing the world, and driving change
• Support Georgetown’s mission to educate women and men to be reflective lifelong learners, to be responsible and active participants in civic life, and to live generously in service to others.
